ash wood

2022

In collaboration with a Swiss swimming school, Luc Reinacher and I developed the SWIMFOIL, an instructional tool for learning to swim.

The SWIMFOIL, often referred to by kids as 'the underwater skateboard,' is specifically designed for teaching the breaststroke technique. Unlike traditional swimming aids, the SWIMFOIL does not provide inherent buoyancy. With the SWIMFOIL, children learn right from the start that their forward motion keeps them afloat. The flow around the foil generates lift similar to that of a wing. This enables the child to glide through the water, allowing them to focus on mastering the correct swimming movements.

This was a collaborative work with: Luc Reinacher
