Unico – Innovative everyday shoes for unique children
About one shoe size every six months: that’s how fast children’s feet grow. This also applies to children who wear ankle-foot-orthoses for medical reasons. These children do not need orthopaedic shoes, but shoes that they can slip into easily. They need shoes in which they feel comfortable and included. Every Unico is unique. The shoes are made to fit each child perfectly based on the digital measurement data of their feet. If their shoe is too small, the children can choose new Unico shoes in the colour they like and the old one can get fully recycled. Only three parts make up the shoe: outsole, insole and textile. Nothing is glued, everthing can get disassembled easly to be washed, replaced or recycled. Thanks to digital manufacturing, 3D printing and 3D knitting the shoes can be manufactured in Switzerland and still be affordable. No long delivery routes and no material waste.
